The dragons were very important to the Chinese people, since it was their symbol of power.
Dragons were an important part of many Chinese festivals, especially the New Year's festival. They were caring and they protected the wind, rain, rivers and precious metals and gems. They brought good luck and wealth. Dragons were also used in many Chinese paintings.
There is actually a myth about the dragon’s toes! The farther dragons travel from their home in China, the more toes they lose! Fortunately, when wandering dragons return home to China, all their missing toes grow back. But, as most dragons would prefer to keep all their toes, all the time, few dragons ever wander very far from home.
The Chinese symbol of power, the dragons, will be important to even the modern day Chinese.
